An Overview of Social Exclusion and Social Inclusion

Growing interest and understanding of social exclusion and inclusion issues have increased during the past few years. While the caste system has been at the center of exclusion in India, other marginalized groups—such as tribal people, women, and the poor—have also experienced similar hardships. Their exclusionary and inclusive politics and their criticism and celebration reveal that they aspire to participate in the so-called mainstream academic discourse but cannot. This book explores social exclusion brought on by caste and gender structures and the inclusive policies created for them. The main problems chosen for this seminar within the framework of human rights education are thoroughly analyzed in this book.
