Cognitive Neuroscience Perspective on Human Behavior

Behavior that differs from what is expected and usual is referred to as abnormal behavior. Aberrant psychology is the study of abnormal behavior. The study of mental processes such as "attention, language usage, memory, perception, problem solving, creativity, and thinking" is known as cognitive psychology. Much of cognitive psychology's work has been incorporated into other modern psychological fields, such as educational psychology, social psychology, personality psychology, abnormal psychology, developmental psychology, and economics, to name a few. Cognitive neuroscience is concerned with the decoding of the brain basis of cognitive functioning within the paradigm of neurosciences and cognitive psychology. It is primarily concerned with the nerve system's structure in order to aid comprehension of models of cognitive functioning in terms of perception, memory, language, and attention. Experimental approaches from psychophysics and cognitive psychology, functional neuroimaging, electrophysiology, cognitive genomics, and behavioral genetics are all used in cognitive neuroscience. This book serves as an introduction to abnormal psychology for students pursuing psychology, nursing, or social and behavioral sciences.
