Writing the preface to this book on Dentistry is a joy for me. Preclinical conservative dentistry is now more relevant than ever, thanks to the rapid progress of dental technologies and materials. Given its importance, a special examination topic for preclinical conservative dentistry has been included. The foundation and structure offered by this textbook will serve as the basis for future clinical training for dental students. The dental student must get good instruction in these principles, which gains increased significance. The core of dentistry as it is used in primary care is operational dentistry, one of the oldest fields of dental research. It makes up most of a dentist's workday and is crucial to restorative dentistry. A better understanding of the genesis, prevention, and therapy of prevalent dental illnesses has accelerated the subject's rapid evolution and the practical practice of conservative dentistry. The scope of this issue has significantly altered over the past 20 years due to advancements and improvements. However, acquiring fundamental information and practical skills must come before professional training. The major goal of this book is to give students the knowledge they need as they build the clinical abilities and attitudes needed for undergraduate study in conservative dentistry and endodontics. We have tried to cover various topics, including the morphology of teeth, cariology, methods, tools, and materials for tooth restorations, as well as the fundamentals of endodontics. We can thus state that after reading this book, the learner should be able to: Sit correctly when working; and efficiently manage their operational environment. Know how to distinguish one tooth from another by understanding the morphology of teeth, the teeth chart, know the fundamentals of cariology, its avoidance, and its conservative treatment. Describe the benefits and drawbacks of various dental materials. Use current pulp protection techniques. For the repair of teeth, use appropriate restorative materials. Finally, learn the fundamentals of endodontic therapy, such as the indications for therapy, basic tools, access preparation, biomechanical preparation, and obturation of the root canal system.
