Islam is a complete way of life. It is the guidance for all mankind from Allah, the Creator of the Universe. It covers all the things people do in their lifetime. Islam tells us the purpose of our creation, our final destiny and our place among other creatures. It shows us the best way to conduct our private and public affairs, including social, political, economic, moral and spiritual activities. The fundamental values and vision of Islam in all its varieties exhibits a meaningful unity and coherence. The common core practices and shared tradition that constitutes Islam are the five pillars. These include shahada or the profession of faith; salaat or ritual prayer; sawm or fasting during the month of Ramadan; zakat or charitable tithe; and the Hajj or annual pilgrimage to Mecca. To state the shahada is to declare ones recognition of Allah and one's identity as a Muslim. The Quran is a book essentially religious, not philosophical, but it deals with all those problems which religion and philosophy have in common. Both have to say something about problems related to the significance of such expressions as God, the world, the individual soul, and the inter relations of these; good and evil, free will, and life after death. While dealing with these problems it also throws light on such conceptions as appearance and reality, existence and attributes, human origin and destiny, truth and error, space and time, permanence and change, eternity and immortality. For Allah, the best part of the earth is that piece of land on which a mosque is built. People who love Allah are identified by their love for the mosque. On the dreadful Day of Resurrection, when there will not be any shade (to escape from scorching heat) such people shall be afforded protection by Allah under the cover of His Throne. This book will be found to be of immense value by the theologians, students of comparative religion and other serious scholars of Islam.
