Role of Surgery in Dermatology

The changing nature of the medical sciences is a constant challenge for dermatologists, but during the past 25 years, a viewpoint shift has been necessary. Our toolbox has grown to address an expanding variety of diseases due to advances in diagnostic and therapeutic approaches and the flood of biological data. This has also made it possible for substantial improvements to be made in remedial treatments. In addition, a rising number of patients are seeking the care of dermatologists due to the increased incidence of tumor diseases, particularly skin malignancies. Dermatologists are expected to keep up-to-date on their knowledge of and surgical methods for treating skin conditions. There are now 350 diseases that surgery can cure. Additionally, dermatologists are now handling numerous cosmetic surgery procedures that call for using numerous gadgets (e.g., lasers, ultrasounds, radio frequencies, etc.). Dermatologists are the only professionals capable of correctly using such sophisticated tools and their obvious biological effects. Several nations have created communities that include national associations, meetings, and instructional resources to address these surgical issues. This textbook was created in the same spirit as these dermatological groups; it is intended to help dermatologists better their surgical knowledge and practice and, most importantly, to help them fulfill the patients' increasing medical demands.
