Description

Ophthalmology is a field of medicine concerned with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of eye and visual system illnesses. An ophthalmologist is a medically trained practitioner who frequently performs both physician and surgical duties. Trachoma is a chronic keratoconjunctivitis produced by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis' four ocular serotypes A, B, Ba, and C. It is a sickness that affects poorer communities that live in filthy environments. The mechanism that links late-life hunger to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease is unknown. Microcirculatory alterations measured by retinal vascular calibre have been associated to a higher risk of stroke and coronary heart disease. The goal of this study was to see if retinal vascular calibres are related to malnutrition in older people who did not have cardiovascular disease. The new cadre of professionals known as eye health care workers, eye health care educators, or ophthalmic assistants are trained in the field of Community Ophthalmology to deliver eye care and blindness prevention services at the village or door-to-door level. Undergraduate students will benefit from this book's fundamental clinical understanding of ophthalmology. It covers all of the fundamentals for a beginning and focuses on Tropical ocular illnesses other than trachoma, malnutrition, and community ophthalmology.
