Forensic pharmacy is application of the sciences of drugs to legal issues. Forensic pharmacists engage in work relating to litigation, the regulatory process, and the criminal justice system. Forensic pharmacy overlaps with many other forensic fields. Forensic Pharmacy is the foundation of the structure on which the sacred profession of Pharmacy has been built up in our country. It provides much needed legal support, professional backing and ethical strength for the systematic growth of the profession. Pharmacokinetic analysis is performed by noncompart-mental (model independent) or compartmental methods. Noncompartmental methods estimate the exposure to a drug by estimating the area under the curve of a concentration-time graph. Compartmental methods estimate the concentration-time graph using kinetic models. Compartment-free methods are often more versatile in that they do not assume any specific compartmental model and produce accurate results also acceptable for bioequivalence studies. Pharmacotherapy is a science which focuses on the use of drugs to treat disease. This branch of the sciences involves almost every branch of medicine, and integrates a wide variety of sciences such as chemistry as well. Many people around the world benefit from pharmacotherapy each year, but pharmaceutical companies create new drugs just to make a huge profit such as Watson Pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, this is the primary reason why medications are expensive and prices are driven up yearly. It was the endeavour of the authors to provide lucid and easily understandable text of the subject for the students of pharmacy based on their long experience of handling the classes in the subject of forensic pharmacy.
